# Postcard Video

> Postcard Video is a free iPhone app for camera-shy people: anyone who gets nervous, stiff or freezes when they record themselves. You chat with an AI (Claude, by Anthropic) about what you want to say and it writes you a script or bullet points onto a clipboard. While you film, the clipboard stays in view, listens, crosses off each line as you say it and scrolls along with you, like a friendlier teleprompter. The camera picture is a small postage stamp instead of a full-screen mirror, and you can pause any time. Videos are saved to the phone's Photos library and never uploaded. It is made by one person, Adam Raabe.

Key facts:

- Platform: iPhone, iOS 26 or later. No Android, no iPad.
- Price: free. Currently a public beta on Apple's TestFlight: https://testflight.apple.com/join/hKmZqMte
- Not yet on the App Store. No account, no subscription, no ads.
- Current version: 1.2 (September 2026).
- How it works: tap the big red button to film, pause and carry on, tap Done. Each take saves to Photos with an on-device transcript. Share sends every take, its transcript, the chat and the points as one folder (AirDrop to a Mac for editing).
- The clipboard: a script (sentences) or a list of bullet points (checkboxes), written by the chat and edited by you. While you record it crosses off each line it hears you say and scrolls along with you.
- Works like a teleprompter, but more natural: you can talk from points instead of reading word for word, and pause whenever you need to.
- Not a video editor. Editing happens later on a computer.
- The chat: writes scripts and bullet points and helps you work out what to say. Only sees text (your messages, the clipboard, the words in files you add, "About you" from Settings, the words of your takes). Never video or audio. Answers only when you write to it. Can be switched off.
- Add notes with the + button: photos, screenshots, PDFs, text files.
- Good for: small business owners making social videos, first-time YouTubers and creators, teachers and course makers, founders recording updates, anyone making a video message.
